XTC-100: the era of action cams for extreme adventures begins
The smallest and most ergonomic
It was the year 2010 when GoPro was still a little-known Californian company. We at Midland, already renowned for our walkie-talkies in the outdoor sector, decided to expand our horizons by responding to the market's need to capture the most extreme moments, offering customers a tool to record their adventures. Thus was born the smallest of the world's first action cams, the Midland XTC-100.
The success of the XTC-100 led to the creation of subsequent models, each improving on the features of its predecessor. The XTC-200 and its variant XTC-280 were the first in our family to offer HD Ready resolution, responding to the growing demand for superior video quality. Shortly after, the XTC-300 made its debut as the first FULL HD model in the series, further raising the level of detail and clarity in footage.
In 2014, we launched the XTC-400, which represented a significant technological leap. The XTC-400 was the first action cam in the world to be remotely controlled via an app, thanks to its Wi-Fi connection, even preceding GoPro in this innovation. This model allowed users to start and stop recordings, as well as review footage directly from their smartphone, offering an unprecedented level of control and convenience.
With over a decade of experience in the action cam field, we have established ourselves as pioneers and veterans in this industry. Our range of action cams continues to evolve, integrating the latest technologies to meet the needs of outdoor and adventure enthusiasts.
Today, the Midland XTC-100 is celebrated in our Museum as a milestone that paved the way for modern action cams. Its story is a testament to our commitment to innovation and quality, a commitment that continues to drive the development of cutting-edge new products.
