The first 40-channel type-approved CB

If the ALAN K350/bc was the first certified CB in history, just nine years later, in 1986, we introduced the ALAN 48, the first certified CB with 40 channels. This device immediately conquered the market, becoming an icon of CB communications and standing out not only for its aesthetics but also for its advanced technological solutions.

From its launch, the ALAN 48 received widespread public acclaim, quickly becoming "THE" CB par excellence, often copied but never equaled by competitors. Thanks to a special fiberglass filter and ingenious technical solutions developed by our technicians, the ALAN 48 offered unprecedented voice modulation quality. The clarity and power of transmission and reception made this device a sort of "sound identity card": the more powerful and clear the voice, the "cooler" one was considered.

Over the years, the ALAN 48 has undergone numerous customizations by retailers and enthusiasts. Versions with Roger Beep, echo, higher power, and often kitsch or "flashy" aesthetic designs were created. These customizations further contributed to creating the legend of this device, fostering a parallel market and a community of loyal users. The ability to modify the printed circuit and the aesthetics of the device allowed users to adapt the ALAN 48 to their specific needs, further increasing its popularity.

Recently renamed "Quarantotto", continues to be present in our catalog after thirty-eight years of glorious career. Although the components have been updated and the design slightly tweaked, the device has maintained the spirit, style, and quality that has distinguished it from the beginning. Few products in the world of consumer electronics can boast such longevity and success.

The ALAN 48 represented a significant step forward in CB communications, offering quality solutions that made us a leader in the industry. Its introduction opened up new possibilities for users, allowing clear and reliable communications in a variety of situations. This device has played a crucial role in the activities of many professionals, such as truck drivers, emergency operators, and radio enthusiasts, providing an effective and safe means of communication. Today, the ALAN 48 is celebrated in our Museum as a milestone that revolutionized communications and left an indelible mark on the history of radio technologies. Its success story is a testament to our dedication to quality and innovation, and its impact is still felt today in the world of communications. Long live the ALAN 48!
